There are only 5 more days until the first batch of Spring Crew workers arrive here at Mini-Yo-We! Pretty exciting, if you ask me. It was definitely a lonnnng Winter. Not too many people were around, and guest groups were relatively few and far between, but I survived…barely. I almost quit. Well, not almost, but I thought about it. I love working here, it’s just a lack of people, especially people your own age, can really take a toll on you, or me in this case. But I survived. One weekend Don and I went to a show in Barrie, and I just ranted for almost the whole trip. It was fun :). Maybe not so much for him, but it was fun for me. It really helped me get through the rest of the season. I also had the chance to pray with a couple of people that I had never met before, and one who was one of my past cabin leaders, so that helped a lot as well. And here I stand.
Spring Crew, though, will mean a lot more people are around, which can be good, or bad, depending on how you look at it, and how well people get along, namely how well I get along with people. It also means more money :). I have figured out that I will be making about 2.381254763 times what I usually make, which is quite significant. When I combine it with what I make now, it averages out to be less than minimum wage, but it’s not bad. I’m not going to be a millionaire anytime soon from working at MYW, but it’s not like I’m living in poverty. Plus, I love my job, so what could be better? More toys are fun, but I’m happy right now.
I did spend a lot of money this Winter on DVDs, an Xbox 360, and other things. Way more than I should have. But as of tomorrow, I will have gone two weeks without spending any money at all. I’ve been tempted to, sure, but never gone so far as to buy anything. I transferred all my money but 100 dollars out of my chequing account (lucky for me, I cannot use the money in my savings account unless I transfer it 24 hours in advance over to my chequing), and there is still 100 dollars left there right now!
That’s all from me for right now. There is still so much to do before Spring Crew arrives. Cleaning my room, for one. And then there’s the dishes. Should be fun, though. I’ll blog some other time about the disaster that my house had turned into this year.
God bless,
